I would like to take this opportunity to recognize the extraordinary efforts of your company at the Countywide Landfill remediation site in East Sparta, Ohio. I worked with JMW from April 2008 - October 2009 on an aggressive, broad reaching environmental remediation project at this site. As Project Manager for U.S. EPA, I viewed JMW as one of the most valuable assets on Team Countywide.

Over the course of the project, many circumstances arose where there was a need for an immediate response. Whether it was a leachate release, pump failure, or deployment of real-time air monitors, I could always count on any of the JMW crew to respond promptly and with the right equipment. I often saw JMW field staff stopping by on weekends at all hours to simply ensure that all systems were in order.

One of the main priorities of U.S. EPA was to minimize odors during the excavation of a massive firebreak involving over 400,000 cubic yards of waste. This work was a critical part of our effort to isolate and contain an underground reaction/fire at this site, thereby limiting the impact on the surrounding community. The odor control system designed, constructed and deployed by JMW was very effective, with both the fixed and portable systems an integral part of the odor control strategy.

Finally, I would like to recognize the attention to detail in the construction of the extensive leachate management system for the remediation area. We are confident that the system, built by JMW in coordination with other contractors, will be effective in controlling both the reaction by-products and odors.
